Wellhead gas isn't pipeline gas. BTU drifts, heavies slug in, knock margin vanishes. The Fuel Analyzer installs inline at the gas handoff and streams heating value, Wobbe index, and methane number — plus flow, pressure, and temperature — continuously, for about a tenth the price of a gas chromatograph. Everyone meters BTU because that's what gas contracts pay on. But the number that kills gensets is the one nobody measures: methane number collapse from heavies. One instrument covers both — the quality record for the gas sales conversation, and the derate signal for the engine.

Propane and butane slugs crash the fuel's knock resistance. The analyzer streams methane number continuously so the controller can derate before detonation — not after the head gasket.
Flow, pressure, and temperature in the same spool
The analyzer is also the meter run. Flow, line pressure, and gas temperature come out of the same inline spool — no separate orifice plate, no second instrument to install and power.

A liquids-rich slug raises your BTU — the gas looks richer, pressure holds perfectly steady, every gauge on the skid says all-clear. Meanwhile methane number has collapsed and the engine is a quarter down on knock margin.
